H&M Motorsports’ Dominate Glen Helen Quad X
David Haagsma Takes Both Pro ATV & SxS Win at Quad X Round 2

Bakersfield, CA (3/27/2015) - Maxxis/H&M Motorsports’ David Haagsma topped the podium in both the Pro ATV and Pro UTV classes at round two of the 2015 STI Quad X series at Glen Helen Raceway, while teammate Beau Baron joined him on the podium in both classes.

In the Pro ATV class, David Haagsma grabbed the holeshot in the first moto and checked out. Haagsma increased his lead with every lap and won the moto with a seven second lead. “I felt good out there. My Maxxis tires hooked up and my Sparks engine pulled hard, and I got the holeshot and the win,” said Haagsma.

In the second moto, Haagsma had a little competition from his teammate off the start, but Haagsma held off Baron for the Holeshot.  Once again, Haagsma was able to maintain the lead for the entire moto to take the checkered flag for the win. “Beau almost got me on the start. We were right beside each other going into the first corner, but I was able to edge him out and get a win,” said Haagsma.

Beau Baron also had a strong run in the Pro ATV class. Baron was second off the start in moto one and held his position from start to finish. “It’s been about six months since I have ridden my motocross quad, and I had to get used to it again,” said Baron.

For Moto two, Baron was feeling more comfortable and challenged Haagsma for the holeshot. “We were really close on the start. My Maxxis Tires hooked up and my Sparks motor was running great, and he only got me by a little bit. This time he wasn’t really able to pull away though. I stayed right there and had a good race,” said Baron, who claimed a second place finish in moto two to secure second overall on the podium.

In the UTV Pro class, David Haagsma repeated his success he had in the Pro ATV class. Haagsma grabbed the holeshot in the first moto and never looked back. Haagsma led from start to finish for the moto one win.

Moto two was a repeat performance for Haagsma as he again led from start to finish for the moto win and the overall. “My Cognito Motorsports RZR was working great out there. A lot of people were breaking, but I didn’t have any problems. It was a good race,” said Haagsma.

Beau Baron was running the Pro UTV class in a borrowed SxS and still found his way to the podium. “My SxS was all torn down, so I borrowed my wife’s, which is bone stock. In the first moto, I didn’t get the start I wanted but finished in second. Moto two, I had a better start in second, but I didn’t want to push it too hard at first. But in the fourth lap, I decided I was going to go for the win and just pinned it. Unfortunately I snapped a gear in the clutch and that was it,” said Baron.

Despite the issues, Baron still finished third overall. “I’m really surprised to finish that well but I’ll take it. I will have my SxS done and ready to go for WORCS, and I plan to win there,” said Baron.

The next round of racing for the H&M Motorsports team will be round four of the 2015 WORCS series in Lake Havasu, AZ on March 28-29th, where the team is going for the podium.
