After starting on the outside pole, Thomas took

the field in his Yamaha YXZ 1000. With no cautions
in the 12-lap race, he was never seriously challenged
and led every lap to earn the $1,000 check.

“The invert put me front row on the outside,
which was my preferred line,” explained Thomas.
“We just checked out and they had nothing for
us today. We went wire to wire and that’s what
we had planned to do. Everyone kept clean. It
was a miracle that there were no cautions.”
The victory was Thomas’s first of the 2017 season.
Thomas graduated from the WORCS Series to run
the Lucas short track series and has also competed
in several rounds of the TORC Series.

from start to finish
“This is my first win and it’s awesome,” said
Thomas. “I do well under pressure and I like the
big ones. Everything went right for us. We had
the setup dialed. Everything just seems to fall
into place for us in these big races.”
His rookie season was full of high and low points,
and he finished sixth in the UTV Pro Production
class for the season, and just outside the top
ten in the Pro Lite Truck class. Through all of
that came experience that has made him ready,
and hungry, for next year.
Performance's' Mickey Thomas took the checkered
flag for win with no other competitor in
sight as he ran away with the victory
“We had podiums in Reno and Wheatland,” said
Thomas. “We’ve qualified on the pole. We’ve had
mechanicals and other issues. Hopefully, we can
get some good finishes on the podium and vie for
the championship next year.”
Thomas will return to LOORRS competition in 2018.
The series kicks off next season March 17 at Glen
Helen Raceway in Devore, CA.
